About
Our Story
The Pickled Shop sells all sorts of pickled deliciousness. As well as our selection of glorious goodie boxes we stock the full range from The Pickled Village, a brand founded by Camille Ortega McLean. Camille is a serial queen of pickles having set up both The Pickled Village and Well Pickled in Scotland. Her products have been sold in Fortnums, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges as well as in delis and farm shops. Word spread and they were soon stocked in fine food shops in France, the Middle East and the US. Camille believes in sharing love through food and The Pickled Shop encourages others to do exactly the same.
Pickles and preserves have never seemed so perfectly packaged alongside crackers, membrillo and biscuits from The Fine Cheese Company (Bath), cheese from the Snowdonia Cheese Company (Wales), chocolate thins from Paxton chocolate (Hackney), Southridge fizz (West Sussex), gins from Warner Edwards (Northamptonshire), vodka and gin from Blackdown Spirits (West Sussex) as well as Pukka teas (Bristol).
COMMUNITY
When Camille took on the village post office in Bulwick, she knew she would need to do something special to keep it going. She set about creating a range of preserves made on the Aga in her kitchen and, with the support of the village, Camille has turned the shop and tea terrace into a hub for the village as well as a destination for visitors from all over. With the launch of The Pickled Shop she can now spread the love even further.
TALKS & EVENTS
An inspiring and entertaining storyteller, Camille speaks at various events about her creative approach to business. She loves waxing lyrical about preserving to Woman's Institute events and school groups but is equally at home talking about her innovative brand of entrepreneurship at Rotary and other business events. Camille loves giving talks and demonstrations at fairs and festivals βto find out more, get in touch.
CONSULTANCY
A creative force in the kitchen, Camille has developed dozens of recipes for her own brands and for others. Her international background (Spanish father, Italian mother, childhood in the Caribbean and globetrotting children) inspires her eclectic recipes β and her passion for sharing love through food ensures that recipes are tried, tested and adored before leaving her kitchen. Camille is available for one-off or ongoing projects.
